4th of July, my boyfriend and I are kindly invited to his boss's house for a barbecue and a spectacular firework display, (I know it's illegal but this is Long Island remember!). The ambiance is quite cheery and jovial. Few people, just close friends and close relatives. we eat, they drink ( I don't) you know the typical backyard hang out. It's about 10pm, the firework show is over. We go back in the yard for more food for the boys of course. Then an interesting conversation unveils... It evolves around politics and immigrants, I know what a delight! To my stupefaction here's what I hear? We should have a Civil War. Yes, you read it right. The "boss" goes on to say: with all these immigrants here (LI) the only way we can get rid of them is to have a civil war. I couldn't even fathom the idea to reply to this comment. I was way too shocked by the level of stupidity and of course ignorance that I again stood there in bewilderment! So here we are, in 2015 and I was part of a conversation about starting a civil war to free America. So tell me again this 2015 really! On Long Island yes!
