My 13 year old daughter starts her new school. Being the social butterfly that she is, she makes a lot of friends in no time. I pick her up from school one day and one of her friend's mother is there. I casually get home my car get close to her. I say hello, she says hello back. Now here's the thing that blew my mind so to speak. First thing that comes out of her mouth is this: Hi what's your background? I'm like, what!!! Really!!! That's the first thing you ask someone you first meet? Right away you inquire about their background? How superficial can one be? SMH. Why not inquire about my social security number since you're at it FBI agent? What would my background have to do with anything I thought to myself. So I answered: I'm French what about you? Since she asked me I'll do the same right. What a sight came out of her when I replied French. What if, but really what if my response was different? What would she have said or done. Can't help but wonder... So here we go again. I had to land on "Long Island" to experience yet another kind of hilarious, encounter like this. At least I like to think that it is hilarious!
